Suggest, How to achieve this solution.

Where has the 'create Lync Online meeting' option gone from OWA calendar?

I wanted to test the new Q&A feature of Lync meetings today.

I logged into OWA, created an appointment. I wanted to turn this appointment into a Lync meeting, but the option is missing.

I tried another way, finding a contact in OWA > People and trying to schedule a meeting with them.

The Lync meeting option was still missing.

What's changed?

Logon Issue

$

Hi there,

We have two machines at two different sites which present the same issue and just wondering if someone would mind providing the solution for it as I am unable to find it.

The issue is that the users will attempt to logon into Office 365 either on IE/Chrome and will have to do this multiple times until the system will allow them to access it. The logon site pings back the error that:

"We don't recognize this user ID or password

Make sure you typed the user ID assigned to you by your organization. It usually looks like someone@example.com or someone@example.onmicrosoft.com. And check to make sure you typed the correct password."

After the third or fourth attempt the user will eventually login into the system and be able to access emails, SharePoint, etc.

In addition, on all our machines occasionally users will login into their accounts and the previous users of the machine will have their emails/documents will load up instead of their own.

My initial thoughts are that it may do something with the website cookies but wouldn't mind the advice to resolve this.

Richard

Hi all

Apologies if this has already been addressed but I haven't been able to find an answer in the forums as yet.

Does anyone know how to go about editing the job title that appears in Lync 2013 below the name field?

Many thanks,

Lync 2013 and shibboleth

I'm having problems logging in Lync 2013 to our Office 365 domain.  We get the "You've tried too many times with and incorrect email address or password..." message or "The server is temporarily unavailable".  We are federated and use shibboleth for authentication against our active directory.  I did log on with one account a while back but I'm wondering if I set a password in the cloud for it.

I can text message in Office 365 between accounts with OWA.  The Outlook clients connect OK too.

Thanks,

I am having a problem with this.  My CNAMES are set correctly.  I get an error on lyncdiscover.  It tells me

Attempting to resolve and verify the CNAME record lyncdiscover.jamesoncorp.com in DNS.
The CNAME record couldn't be verified.
Tell me more about this issue and how to resolve it

 Additional Details
Host lyncdiscover.jamesoncorp.com couldn't be resolved in DNS to expected result of webdir.online.lync.com. It resolves to sip.jamesoncorp.com

It seems to resolve in nslookup when i look at webdir.online.lync.com but when i nslookup lyncdiscover it comes back as the sip.

Lync Online users in Small Business Premium or Midsize Businesses receive the message “Your subscription has expired”

$

Some Lync Online users in your organization may be getting the following message:

Symptoms

Lync Online users will get this message when they are running Lync 2013 that is included with Office Pro Plus with current Small Business Premium or Midsize subscriptions and their subscription with one of the new Office 365 offerings (Small Business Essentials, Small Business or Small Business Premium) hasn't been renewed or they haven't installed Lync Basic 2013 after their subscription was renewed. Because the subscription hasn't been renewed or Lync Basic 2013 hasn't been installed, then Lync 2013 will go into reduced functionality mode after 30 days when one of the following conditions are true:

  1. The users haven't renewed their subscription using one of the new Small Business offerings, haven't reactivated Office using the new subscription or installed Lync Basic 2013.
  2. Users have failed to renew their subscriptions with the new Small Business offerings prior to October 1st, 2015.

Resolution

1. If the administrator for the organization hasn't renewed their Small Business Premium or Midsize subscriptions with one of the new Small Business offerings:

  • Administrators can renew the current licenses through September 30th, 2015 or can renew using one of the new Small Business offerings, starting October 1st, 2014.
  • After the administrator has renewed the current licenses, the users must reactivate Office and install Lync Basic 2013.

Note: Renewing and purchasing new subscriptions must be done by an Office 365 Administrator.

2. If the administrator for the organization have already renewed the current licenses using one of the new Small Business offerings, the users must do the following within 30 days of when the subscription is renewed:

  • Reactivate Office
  • Install Lync Basic 2013

To fix this issue, you will need to reactivate Office and install Lync Basic 2013. Do the following:

1. In the Your subscription has expired window, click Sign In.

2. In the Activate Office window, type your Office 365 email address and click Next.

3. In the Choose your product window, select which product to install and click Continue.

4. On the Windows 8 start screen or Windows 7 Start Menu, click Lync 2013. The user will see the following:

5. On the Microsoft Lync dialog box, they will click the Help button. The user will be taken to the Office 365 downloads page where they can choose and install Lync Basic 2013.

More information

Customers that have a Hybrid deployment with Lync Server 2013 may want to use their Volume License product keys for Lync 2013, instead of their Office 365 subscription. In that case, users should click Enter Key on the first message and enter the volume license provided by their Administrator.

Migrating from On Prem OCS 2007 R2 to Office 365 Lync

$

So we are at the final stages of rolling out Office 2013 pro plus. The majority of our clients now have O2013 pro plus. We have already migrated everyone off of the on prem Exchange to Exchange online. So our last stage is to finally point all the Lync clients to the new Lync online back end server and away from the OCS or on-prem server. How do I go about pointing to the online Lync server so all our Lync clients will point to it and not our on prem OCS server? How does the internal Lync clients know to point to the new server?

Thanks,

Logitech Cam Not Working in Conference

At my job, we have a Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam and according to this website, http://catalog.lync.com/en-us/hardware/meeting-room-systems/logitech-bcc950-conferencecam.aspx, it supports Lync 2013. On my laptop, I am running Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64bit with Office ProPlus 365/2013 64bit from my O365 E4 license. If I open Lync settings/options and go to Video Device, it has this BCC950 listed as an option and shows the video preview perfectly. However, if I start or join any Lync meeting, It says 'We couldn't start your video. Your camera isn't set up, or you're already using it. You can set it up in Options - look for Video Device settings.' even though it is clearly already configured and recognized by Lync. If I take this same camera and connect it to my spare laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit OS running Office 365/2013 ProPlus 32bit from my O365 E4 license, the camera loads fine in options and in a meeting. Logitech has no drivers or software for this device so am I doing something wrong or did we just purchase a bunch of these models without being informed it wouldn't work on 64bit version of Office.

On-Premise to Cloud Lync - Maintaining Federations

We are looking to move from our on-premise Lync Server to Office365 Lync pretty soon but have one obstacle in our way. We have a couple federations with partner company's through our Lync server that we do not want to lose when we move over. What would be the best way to retain our old Federations we have setup while moving to the cloud?

Lync 2013 crashes on startup

Hi,

Lync 2013 can't be started up after I install an application called CANape, which is released by Vector Informatik GmbH.

You can download this software by http://vector.com/vi_downloadcenter_iframe_en.html?product=canape&formular_treffer_submit=1

And my colleagues also installed CANape, but they don't encounter this startup issue.

The CANape version I installed is 8.0 SP5b.

Please check the below information when "Microsoft Lync has stopped working" prompt out:

VSourceFilter.ax is located at C:\Program Files\Vector\CANape\8.0\Exec

I dont' know why Lync would care about this file.

And I can't remove this software,  it's a MUST tool for us.

Could you please tell me how to fix this issue.

Thanks~~

Best Regards,

Celia

Can't sign into Lync despite analyser saying all green status.

Hi there,

I'm experiencing difficulties trialling Lync for my account. I put in my user name for my Office365 subscription and I get an error saying Lync couldn't find a server at the location. There might be an issue with the DNS configuration for my domain.

However, if i try the remove connectivity analyzer it comes back all green.

Any chance i'm doing something wrong?

Thanks for your assistance,

Kim
